We are a (group) of artists who have a common aim; we want to make art-making more exciting and more accessible to all people in our community.

We want to facilitate art-making by encouraging creativity, whilst also teaching new skills. Art is beneficial and it can be used as a tool for learning and discovery. Our mission is to add to and to expand the variety of art that is available and to raise the standard of the experience of art within formal primary and secondary education, and in the wider community.

Bookmaking - Week 3

We looked at a variety of Artist's Books. The children saw how different books can be made; from  collections of small sewn books in a boxes, to folded concertina books and pamphlets. In this workshop the children each had the opportunity to each create a sewn book and a 'trouser-fold' book. They then made hard covers for them and decorated them, adding beads, and pockets to make them individual.

Self Portraits - Week 1

Wow! The children created some stunning and unique pieces of art!

The children were made aware of the proportions of the head, face and body. They were asked to use paint for their clothes and charcoal and pastel for their hands and face. They were encouraged to use big brushes to cover large surfaces, and smaller brushes or soft chalk pastels for smaller areas or detail.
